The BEST Lightened Up Green Bean Casserole!🧀🥓

I lightened up our favorite over the top green bean casserole recipe that we make for Thanksgiving dinner every year. This version is much more WW friendly and a perfect skinny Thanksgiving side dish that you don't have to feel guilty about eating. It turned out so good!!

How to Make This:

Ingredients:

  • Canned green beans, 2 -15 oz cans, drained

  • 10 1⁄2 fl oz Campbell's Condensed Soup 98% Fat free cream of mushroom

  • 1⁄2 cup Plain unsweetened almond milk

  • 1 cup White onion, chopped

  • 8 oz Mushrooms, sliced

  • 1 cup Lucerne 2% Milk reduced fat sharp Cheddar shredded cheese, divided

  • 1⁄8 cup Sliced almonds

  • 3 oz French's Original French fried onions, divided

  • 2 oz Hormel Real crumbled original bacon

  • 1⁄4 tsp Black pepper

  • 1⁄2 Tbsp Apple cider vinegar

Instructions:

  1. Toast sliced almonds in oven at 350F for about 2-3 minutes(optional)

  2. Sautee onions and mushrooms in a large frying pan, on medium heat, until softened.

  3. To make your buttermilk, whisk together milk and lemon juice and let sit for 5 minutes.

  4. In a large bowl, Mix soup and buttermilk together, add in sautéed onions and mushrooms, green beans, 1/2 of the french fried onions, 1/2 cup cheese, mix well.

  5. Pour into 9X9 casserole dish and bake, uncovered, at 350 for 25-30 minutes.

  6. Top with remaining french fried onions, cheese, bacon and almonds and bake for another 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted.

  7. Enjoy!
