LOW SUGAR/No Sugar Added CROCKPOT Apple Pie Filling🍏🍎
This homemade, healthy apple pie filling is low sugar with no sugar added! It is also ZERO WW points per serving!! It is made in the slow cooker which makes it very easy to make! It tastes so good, you will never want to use the canned store bought kind again!
How to Make This:
Ingredients:
6-8 medium apples, chopped (8 cups chopped total) I like Granny Smith but you can use another type or do a mix of Granny and a sweeter apple like Honeycrisp.
1/4 cup no calorie brown sugar substitute (I used Lakanto)
1/4 cup no calorie classic sugar substitute ( I used Lakanto)
1 1/2 tsp apple pie spice (Homemade Apple Spice Recipe)
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup water
2 Tbsp cornstarch
Instructions:
Peel, core and slice the apples into small pieces.
Add the apples to the crockpot. (Mine is a 7qt but a 5 or 6 qt will work)
Add in sweeteners, apple pie spice, salt and vanilla and stir to coat apples.
Add lemon juice.
Add cornstarch to water and stir until combined, pour over apples.
Give apples another good stir.
Put the lid on slow cooker and set to low.
Cook the apples on low for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the apples reach desired softness.
Store the apples in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 5 days. You can also freeze.
