Our favorite spaghetti recipe with Ricotta!

How to Make This:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey or beef (I use 93% lean)

  • 3 cans

  • 6 ounce tomato paste, plus water from the 3 cans

  • 28 ounces diced tomatoes

  • 1 medium red onion, chopped

  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms, this time I used chopped bell pepper

  • 1 can 4.25 ounce olives

  • 15 oz Part skim ricotta

  • 1 pound whole wheat spaghetti noodles

  • 1 Tablespoon minced garlic

  • 1 Tablespoon Cumin

  • 1 Tablespoon Chili powder

  • 4 packets Truvia no calorie sweetener

  • 1 teaspoon oregano

  • 1 teaspoon basil

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, cook turkey, peppers and onions together until meat is browned.

  2. Add garlic and let cook a minute or so.

  3. Add in remaining ingredients, minus the pasta and ricotta.

  4. Fill all emptied tomato paste cans with water and add to sauce.

  5. Stir everything together and let simmer for 1-2 hours.

  6. Once sauce has simmered, stir in ricotta.

  7. Cook pasta and add to sauce.

  8. salt and pepper to taste

  9. Enjoy!
