Million Dollar Baked Spaghetti Lightened Up!π
This easy Million Dollar Baked Spaghetti Casserole is a lightened up version, saving you calories and WW points, but full of flavor! It is a layered casserole that is hearty and delicious, with layers of pasta, meaty sauce, and 3 kinds of cheeses! Family friendly Comfort food without the guilt!
How to Make This:
Ingredients:
16 ounces whole wheat spaghetti, uncooked
1 pound lean ground beef, uncooked
1 medium onion , chopped
2 tsp garlic , minced
3 cups marinara sauce (I used my homemade marinara)
1 cup cottage cheese (2% milkfat)
4 ounces light cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup Fat free Greek yogurt
2 tsp Italian seasoning
2 cups (8 oz) part skim shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
Salt and pepper to taste
Cooking spray
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 FΒ°.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook Spaghetti according to package instructions, just until βal denteβ.
Drain, and set aside.
In a large skillet on medium heat, cook ground meat and onions and season with salt and pepper. Cook until meat is browned and veggies are softened.
Add in garlic and cook another minute.
Add the marinara sauce and stir to combine. Let simmer while you work on the cheese mixture.
In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, 1 cup mozzarella and Italian seasoning and mix well.
To assemble: Spray a 9Γ13ββ casserole dish with cooking spray and pour half of the pasta into the bottom.
Add half of the cheese mixture on top, dotting then smoothing out.
Pour half the meat mixture on cheese mixture, smoothing it out.
Repeat with remaining spaghetti, cheese mixture and sauce.
Top with remaining mozzarella.
Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
