Crock-Pot Apple Pecan Crunch "Dump Cake"
I love doing these "dump cakes" because they are really simple but delicious desserts. I usually do these in the oven but decided to try one in the Crock-Pot. It turned out great and I loved they way it made the house smell while it was cooking! The combination of fresh apples and spices along with the sweet, nutty, buttery cake topping make this a perfect Fall dessert!
How to Make This:
Ingredients:
1 15.25oz box cake mix (I used Betty Crocker Super Moist Butter recipe yellow cake mix)
1/3 cup chopped pecans
1/3 cup Truvia Natural sweetener with brown sugar blend
1 tsp Ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp Ground nutmeg pinch of salt
6 Tbsp Brummel & Brown Spread Made with Yogurt
6-7 cups of chopped apples, I used 7 medium sized Sweet Tango apples
cooking spray
Instructions:
Wash, peel, core and chop your apples.
Add them to crockpot that has been sprayed with cooking spray.
Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg, salt.
Add in brown sugar blend and stir together.
Pour cake mix over the apples followed by melted butter spread.
Work the butter spread into the cake mix a bit.
Sprinkle with chopped pecans.
Cook on high for 2-2 1/2 hours, until apples have softened.
To do this in the oven, put everything in a 13X9 inch baking dish and bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until apples have softened.
Enjoy!
